Not being involved in change can make staff feel as if things are being done to them. Engaging staff in making decisions based on the mission and vision of the organization requires a number of factors, including trust, communication, positive relationships, and a common language around instruction. Developing this kind of environment results in a system where people can be relied upon to do what is best for students. This presentation explores how coherence in a system leads to effective leadership and describes the role of the Rigor/Relevance Framework, Learning Criteria, and Next Navigator.
